Two Ceremonies are better than one in this case! Amy and Saad took extra care with incorporating both of their traditions and cultures, making sure each was fully represented on their wedding day. They had two ceremonies back to back, first a traditional Quaker ceremony where they led their exchange of vows, and then the Pakistani Nikah ceremony (with a wardrobe change in between). Thankfully the weather was nearly perfect, sunny and very mild for mid-October, providing a beautiful backdrop for their outdoor ceremonies.
Their venue, the Anthony Wayne house had the perfect tented area for an indoor-outdoor dinner reception. Both the reception and celebration meshed the two cultures together, which created a really fun atmosphere. Amy and Saad's friends and family on both sides performed dances to Desi music which is a common wedding tradition in Pakistan. Some friends even surprised them with a Dhol (a Pakistani drummer) who brought a lot of energy to the dance floor.
For the flowers and decor, they used bright reds/oranges/pinks as well as gold and metallic. Dinner was served family style so they made the centerpieces low with candles to give it a real family vibe, and then the decor was accented with greenery and fresh fall flowers. The evening ended with a surprise from Saad, a fun sparkler send off with their loved ones. Talk about a fun filled wedding day for these two!
