13 Never-Before-Seen Photos of JFK and Jackie’s Wedding Are Now for Sale
If you love everything vintage, you’ll love this: wedding photos of one of the 20th century’s most iconic couples are being auctioned off this month! 13 original and most likely unpublished negatives (plus 5 x 4 printouts of each negative) of John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy’s September 1953 nuptials are currently for sale through RR Auction.
According to the auction house’s Executive VP Bobby Livingston, “The images were taken by a freelance photographer, Arthur Burges, of Fall River, MA who had been asked to be a ‘back-up’ photographer for the wedding. They were discovered by family members in his darkroom after his passing in 1993.” Four of the negatives feature the newlyweds, two show the entire wedding party, and the remainder show the cake, reception, and wedding attendees. Check out a few of the very first prints that were made from the negatives…

The auction (which includes a few other pieces of Kennedy history, including the couple’s 1963 holiday card which was signed just days before the assassination) began on September 26 and runs through October 15. The current bid is just $242, so grab your credit card and head to RR Auction if you want to own this little piece of American history!
