The Charm in St. Augustine, Florida: America’s Oldest City

Discover, manage, and track all of your vendor communication, contracts, and timelines in one place.
Destination Overview:
Did you know that the city of St. Augustine in Florida was founded in 1565, and it holds the title of being the oldest city in America? With this type of history, (over 500 years!) you’re going to want to soak up every second here.  Particularly, if you and your hubby-to-be are obsessed with history, charm, and convenience, the newly restored inns at The Collector Luxury Inn and Gardens could be an excellent choice for your pre and/or post wedding activities. Below, some of our top recommendations from our recent trip in St. Augustine, Florida.
Ideal For:
Weddings, bachelorette parties, mini-moons
Insider’s Tip:
We recommend spending 3-4 days max in St. Augustine. Since everything is within walking distance, take your time to explore the history and outstanding architecture at every corner.
Getting Around:
We recommend getting around by walking. Everything is conveniently laid out and it’s the best way to soak up the town. There are plenty of tour buses and bikes to utilize if you want to get a more guided experience. Also, The Collector Luxury Inn and Gardens have bikes you can use, too!
Where to Stay:
The Collector Luxury Inn and Gardens  is an absolute must! There are nine homes that hold 30 luxurious and spacious rooms. While historic, the rooms are beautifully updated with all of your necessary amenities and the service is 5-star. The secluded space makes it feel like you’re living in a vast and magical secret garden. There’s a pool, fire pit, and the friendliest staff! Sprinkled throughout the stunning property are beautiful statues nestled in the lush greenery that make for stunning engagement photos!
Grab A Drink:
If you’re a guest at The Collector Luxury Inn and Gardens, you’ll most likely be spending your evenings at The Well, their chic and cozy bar. All of their cocktails are a must-try (our favorite was The Moscow in Mexico) and made with garden-fresh ingredients. They also have a mixology program so you can step up your cocktail making game and learn how to make your own signature cocktail.
Fun Activities:
Whether you’re with your bridal party or your future hubby, we highly recommend checking out the St. Augustine Distillery   (which is walking distance from The Collector Luxury Inn and Gardens) during the day because they have free tours and tastings of gin, vodka, rum, and whiskey. They also rent out their unique space as a wedding venue.
St. Augustine Eco Tours
We highly recommend taking a boat tour with St. Augustine ECO Tours to hear the dolphins with underwater microphones, learn more history about the city, and acquire a deeper appreciation of wildlife.
