Aurora, New York could be one of America's best-hidden secrets - especially if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind location for your upcoming nuptials.  Once you arrive in Aurora, you'll just feel an overwhelming sense of peace and happiness - which is ideal for an intimate wedding.

We recommend the spring and winter. When we visited in the winter, despite the frigid cold, the snow on the treetops made for a truly beautiful winter wonderland and it's ideal for epic photos!  

The scenery at the Inns of Aurora is idyllic and will make for the most romantic photos for engagement shots, especially if you catch the golden hour in front of the lake.

But first, a little history lesson! Pleasant Rowland is a name you may or may not know, but you should. She plays a key factor in the restoration of this area and it made us fall in love with Aurora even more.  Most notably, Rowland is the creator of the American Girl dolls (that we ALL pined over, let's be real) and bought Mackenzie Childs (in 2001) and revived it to where it is today.  And more recently, her biggest project was the Inns of Aurora - four charming boutique hotels that are all near each other on the same block. 

Depending on your personal style, each property has a distinctive look and feel with all of the right luxurious touches. Because the hotels are close to each other, it makes it very convenient for your guests to be comfortable and stay in close proximity to the ceremony. And if you're considering Aurora for a girls' getaway, having a beautiful mansion to yourself sounds like the PERFECT time.

 If you are feeling late-night comfort food vibes and don't want to walk far to get it,  we recommend hanging out at the Fargo Bar & Grill. 

Depending on the weather, of course, we suggest dining outside of the Inns of Aurora Dining Room. As you enjoy the most divine wines and hearty dishes, you'll get to soak up all of the beautiful lakeside views.
