1 Create your own vows.

Write your own vows to recite, or sing, or rap, or do an interpretive dance to.

2 Mix up the seating arrangement.

Chairs in a row are overrated. Try a circular arrangement for your ceremony or make it standing room only.

3 Dance down the aisle.

Do something fun as you strut your way to the “I dos.”

4 Tell your story.

Because everyone loves story time. Take a few minutes during the ceremony to tell guests how you met and fell in love.

5 Surprise guests with something fun.

Who says you can’t spontaneously break out into song and dance during your ceremony? This groom did.

6 Ask guests to participate.

Give guests little signs to hold up after you say your vows! We suggest pennant flags with phrases like, “Hooray,” “Yippee” or “YASSS!”

7 Wear something totally unique.

Don’t want to wear a white wedding gown? Then don’t! The sky is the limit when deciding what to wear on your big day.

8 Pick a non-traditional processional song.

Choose a song that’s more meaningful to you and your partner than “Canon in D.”

9 Have your flower girls throw confetti.

It’s not a party without confetti!

10 Take a selfie mid-ceremony.

Have a bridesmaid bring a selfie stick up to the altar and snap a memorable picture in the middle of the ceremony.

11 Open the bar before the “I dos.”

Give guests something to drink while they watch you tie the knot. Better yet, get creative and serve guests boozy popsicles or spiked hot chocolate!

12 Have a live painter capture your vows.

Create a keepsake that’s totally different than the photos your photographer will snap.
