Emily and Andrew are high school sweethearts who decided to tie the knot after two law degrees, years of travel, and a sweet pug named Atticus. They wanted a wedding that told a story about the things they liked most, including Los Angeles—the city they’d fallen in love with. That’s why the Central Library in Downtown LA was the perfect setting for the reception, particularly given the couple’s love of books and storytelling. Scroll on to see their stunning big day details:

The couple said the “I dos” at St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Santa Monica nearby the Pacific with a traditional organ accompaniment.

The reception at the Central Library began in an outdoor courtyard with street tacos, agua fresca, and local draft beer. Classic tunes from the 60s and 80s made for a laid back and festive mood.

Keeping with the theme, there was also a story time for all the children in attendance.

The party then moved inside to the elegant, historic rotunda for dessert and dancing to 90s favorites, with local artists providing sketches for guests, a stand alone scotch bar, and a coffee barista, and a Godfather-inspired five-tier cake.

Congrats to the newlyweds!
