The Save to Loverly button makes it easy to save your dream wedding inspiration and vendors to your planning dashboard.
If you're planning to rock aisle-worthy heels for your "I dos," don't leave comfort up to chance. It would be a total bummer to kick off your reception only to realize that you've literally picked the most painful pair of shoes. And, you're stuck in them all night. To avoid unnecessary shoe drama on the big day, here are eight hacks for comfortably wearing heels during your wedding.

1. Purchase your wedding shoes in the afternoon.

Did you know the average persons feet swell throughout the day? It's okay, we didn't either. But because of that, our expert recommend that the best time the best time to purchase your wedding shoes is in the afternoon or evening when your feet are the largest. If you buy your shoes in the morning, you run the risk of lingering pain and tightness after an evening of "I dos" and dancing.

2. Wear your heels around the house leading up to the big day.

Make sure to test drive your stunning shoes for long amounts of time. Slip them on while you're doing chores or when you're lounging around.

3. Widen the toes out with ice.

When water freezes, it expands. Use this simple science lesson to stretch out your shoes. Start by filling a one-quart sized ziplock bag about halfway full of water. Then, zip up the bag and check to make sure it's not leaking. Stick the water bag into the toe of the heel and put the entire shoe in the freezer. If you really need to stretch them out, add two or more bags into the toe box. Once frozen, the bags will expand and the shoe.

4. Use socks and a blowdryer to stretch it out.

Don your thickest socks (or multiple pairs) and put on the new shoes. Turn your blowdryer on high heat and blast the air for about two minutes. Remove the socks and voila, they'll be looser!

5. Stick Moleskin on the parts of your shoes that rub.

Moleskin is a soft cotton fabric that has an adhesive back and can be cut to any size. If you have one part of the shoe that rubs (be it the toe, the heel, or a strap) cut a small piece of Moleskin and adhere it to the inside of the shoe. This will prevent friction and your feet can dance all night long.

6. Tape your toes to alleviate pain on the balls of your feet.

Using transparent tape or nude medical tape, bandage your third and fourth toes (starting from the big toe) together. With the toes are wrapped together, it alleviates strain to the nerve running between those two toes and the balls of your feet.

7. Use clear gel deodorant to reduce friction.

Apply clear deodorant to the heels of your feet before slipping on those shoes. Once dry, the product will act as a blister blocker by reducing irritation.

8. Don't forget to pack Band-Aids.

Even if you're totally prepared in the heel department, it's still smart to have some Band-Aids handy in case of an emergency.
