How to Ace Eyelash Extensions on Your Wedding Day

Collect, manage, and organize your wedding guest information for each event and track their preferences.
It is undoubtedly the age of eyelash extensions, and more and more brides are opting for the wedding add-on. But with so many options to choose from–and the risk of looking a little too dramatic–what's a girl to do? Well, we've got everything you need to know about eyelash extensions, so you can bat those baby blues, browns, or greens with the best of them on your big day.
Why go for extensions?
Brides who opt for a little extra length or fullness can ditch waterproof mascaras, heavy eyeliners, and usually some additional make-up too. Plus, the best part? No need to worry about tearing up, because eyelash extensions will stay put through every emotional moment (just make sure to get them a few days in advance).
How to get the look.
Working with a trained professional, eyelashes are applied in between, on top of, or at the ends of your own fringe, depending on the look you desire. Talk to your aesthetician and decide on the option that works best for you.
Understand your options.
With materials ranging from synthetic to mink, you have plenty of options to choose from. While mink tends to be the most expensive and will take the longest to apply, it also lasts the longest. Synthetic lashes provide dramatic length and fullness but may begin to fall out around the three-week mark.
Stick with a pro.
While strips of eyelashes are accessible at any neighborhood drug store, these can be difficult to apply, and only last for a few uses. Unless you're a serious expert, stick with a professional application that will last much longer and be stress-free.
Make sure to plan ahead.
To get comfortable with the look and feel of your falsies, plan for your first application roughly six months before your wedding. This will give you plenty of time to play around with how your lashes look and feel, and it will give you a sense of when a second application will be needed. Then, as you get closer to your wedding date, have them filled for a fresh look.
