Exclusive access to expert wedding planning advice and resources from top industry professionals.
When it comes to our skin, most of us want the same thing; a clear, glowing and beautiful complexion. Your wedding day is no different and you want to make sure you’re doing everything you can to help your skin look top notch. Ready to get your glow on? Keep reading for 5 healthy skin tips that will help your skin look it’s best.

1. 8 Hours of Sleep

We’ve all heard it before, but sleep is so incredibly important for good skin health. A good night’s sleep helps ensure your body isn’t pumping out excessive levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Elevated cortisol levels quickly lead to more stress and inflammation in the body, and this translates into breakouts and general dullness. A solid sleeping schedule, especially in the days leading up to your wedding, will help prevent dark circles, puffiness, and poor skin quality that usually comes at the expense of a sleepless night. Since your stress levels are likely already heightened during this time, make sure to prioritize sleep to help your skin stay clear and gorgeous.

2. Cut Down on Alcohol

Alcohol is extremely dehydrating to the body and this includes your body’s largest organ – your skin. Make sure to start your days with an alkalizing tonic and avoid alcohol the night before to help reduce any additional inflammation, dryness, and poor quality sleep. It’s best to look forward to a toast after the ceremony instead!

3. Eat Your Cruciferous Veg

Of course, you want to make sure you’re eating nutrient dense foods on the daily to help you glow from the inside out. Incorporating more cruciferous vegetables (that’s kale, broccoli, brussel sprouts, etc.) is one of the best things you can do for your skin. Cruciferous vegetables are high in sulfur-containing compounds, which help your body properly expel toxins, are high in antioxidants and will help keep your skin clear.

4. Stress Less

This is easier said than done, but since stress causes havoc on our bodies, hormones, and skin, this is something you should add to your daily routine. Try setting an alarm for 2-3 times each day to remind you to take 10 long and deep breaths to help you slow down. You can also prop your feet up the wall, take some deep belly breaths, and you’ll notice you instantly feel calmer and more at peace.

5. Dry Brush

Help your body get rid of dead skin cells by exfoliating with a dry brush. Each day, before you shower, use a natural bristle brush to exfoliate your skin, starting at your feet and brushing up towards your heart. Not only will you release toxins and impurities, but you’ll help increase circulation which means more blood flow and glowing skin!
