The Bride's Guide to Big Day Social Media

As social media grows in popularity as a way to document weddings, we're seeing more and more couples opt for wedding hashtags. But, while guests are snapping and posting away, what does that mean for those who are actually getting married? If you're a nearlywed, how can you handle social media on your big day? Brides, since you probably have more to worry about than which filter you'll use on Instagram, here are five tips for tackling social media on the "I dos."

Just because you're asking guests to use a wedding hashtag doesn't mean you have to. If remembering to post a photo on the big day is going to stress you out, then don't do it! There will be plenty of other pictures to comb through on social after the big day. 

While you can't control what types of photos your guests will post, you can ask your 'maids to not post until you walk down the aisle. The worst thing that could happen is that your S.O. catches a peek of you before the ceremony. 

There's no specific number of photos that you should post during your bash. If you're super active on social, you might want to snap and post a few photos on the big day. On the other hand, you don't want to spend too much of your wedding day on social media. 

If you're not big on social, but you really want to share a photo or two for guests who couldn't make it, designate a social media buddy on the wedding day. Have this person post a photo or two (with your approval) so you don't have to! 

After the wedding is over, spend some time with your partner and look through the photos. Like and comment on your guests photos and thank them for sharing and helping you celebrate.
